How to Pay Your Tax
Obtain Your Assessment/Demand Notice and EPRR
You are welcome and encouraged to be a compliant and law-abiding citizen. To pay your taxes remain a Civic Duty. These instructions would help and guide you to make paying your taxes becomes very easy.
All tax payments are preceded by the generation of the EPRR. The EPRR stands for “Enugu State Payment Retrieval Reference”. This is a unique electronic code that helps track and secure your transactions; so you are assured of Compliance.
Individuals who wish to get the EPRR for their Direct Assessment Taxes should visit the Board of Internal Revenue to get assessed. Please Click Here for a List of Addresses that could help you with this.
Corporate organizations who wish to remit taxes (Such as PAYE, With-holding Taxes, Capital Gains Taxes) can get their EPRR for the remittance of the following taxes using their self-service portal. Send an email to registration@irs.en.gov.ng to request Login Details for your self-service account. If you already have these details, Click Here to Login Now.
Your ESBN is your login username. If you have not yet been enumerated and therefore do not have an ESBN (Enugu State Social Benefit Number) simply take the following steps:

- Fill the Enugu State Social Benefit Number (ESBN) enrolment form here
- Submit the downloaded Pre-enrolment Slip at a tax office close to you. For organizations, send an email to registration@irs.en.gov.ng with the Pre-enrolment slip and evidence of company registration attached. You will get your ESBN and self-service login details via your registered email address.
- Login here to start your remittance.
Payment Options:
The following options are available for payment:- You can Pay your EPRR in any bank in Nigeria See List of Banks Here
- You can Pay your EPRR by making a cheque in favour of the Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue
- You can pay your EPRR by Electronic Funds transfer using any means provided by your bank
What to Expect After Paying
If you pay through the banking hall or POS, you would get a Payment Receipt. This payment receipt is used to collect your Revenue Receipt from any of the Enugu State Tax Offices.
